Road Test Tips for Learner Stage

You will perform various manoeuvres while an ICBC driver examiner marks your ability to drive in a safe, smooth, controlled manner.
Examiner checks that you use the key driving skills.
Examiner assesses your See-Think-Do skills. See-Think-Do is a driving strategy to help you scan for hazards, decide on safest solution and perform manoeuvres safe.
Includes an assessment of hazard perception skills.
You may take about 45 minutes or more.

Road Test Tips for Novice Stage

You will drive in more demanding environments than you did in the Class 7 road test. You will perform manoeuvres that show you are now a safe, experienced driver with excellent vehicle control.
Your See-Think-Do skills are assessed and you are expected to use the key driving skills. See-Think-Do is a driving strategy to help you scan for hazards, decide on safest solution and perform manoeuvres to road safety.
At times during the test, you will be tested for hazard perceptions you see while driving. The class 5 road test and examiner feedback takes about 1 hour.
